Introduction

PM101 series of AC-DC switching power supplies in a package of 2 x 4 x 1.29 inches are capable of delivering 100 watts of continuous power at 7.5 CFM forced air cooling or 80 watts at convection cooling. They are suited for medical applications, information technology and industrial applications. The PM101 series is certified to both IEC 60601-1 and IEC 62368-1 safety standards which improves design-in time and reduces end equipment compliance costs.

PM101 Medical Open Frame Power Supply with Wide 80-264 VAC Input

The PM101 Series is a compact medical open-frame power supply that combines medical-grade safety, flexible thermal performance, and a wide 80–264 VAC input range for reliable operation in critical medical devices. Its wide input range helps reduce the risk of equipment restart failure caused by unstable AC mains, making the PM101 an ideal power solution for surgical lights, medical scanners, and ocular equipment.

With a compact footprint of 50.8 × 101.6 × 32.8 mm (2 × 4 × 1.29 in.) and a weight of approximately 150 g, the PM101 is easy to integrate into space-constrained medical devices.

Medical Safety with 2 × MOPP and 4,000 Vac Isolation

The PM101 Series is designed to meet stringent medical safety requirements with 2 × MOPP (Means of Patient Protection), BF-class insulation, and 4,000 Vac input-to-output isolation. Additional isolation includes 1,500 Vac input-to-earth and 1,500 Vac output-to-earth, while leakage current is limited to ≤175 µA for enhance patient safety.

Certified to IEC 60601-1 and IEC 62368-1, the PM101 Series helps simplify regulatory compliance for medical device manufacturers.

Flexible Output Options and High Efficiecny

The PM101 Series is available in eight single-output models with 12 V, 15 V, 18 V, 24 V, 28 V, 32 V, 36 V, and 48 V DC outputs, providing flexibility for a wide range of medical device designs.

Designed for different thermal environments, the PM101 delivers up to 100 W with 7.5 CFM forced-air cooling or 80 W under natural convection cooling. Typical efficiency reaches 87–88% at 115 VAC and up to 90% at 230 VAC, depending on the selected model. Combined with ≤0.15 W no-load power consumption, the series helps reduce heat generation, lower standby power consumption, and improve overall system efficiency.
